Jack Kirby's New Gods remains one of his most impressive creations. The legendary artist and writer concocted entire worlds for his comic series in the 1970s. In 2024, the New Gods rise again in a brand new comic from Ram V and Evan Cagle.

The New Gods have remained a staple in the DC Universe since their introduction in the 1970s. Characters like Mister Miracle, Big Barda, and Orion have starred in miniseries while playing roles in other books such as Justice League International. At the same time, Darkseid has become the big bad of the entire universe. In DC's upcoming New Gods #1, the all-seeing Metron will discover the rising powers of a child on Earth that may change everything. Meanwhile, Scott Free and Barda continue to escape their god-like responsibilities away from New Genesis and Apokolips but will be thrown into the conflict whether they like it or not!

New Gods #1 features main cover art from Nimit Malavia, with Highfather overlooking his fellow New Gods in the image. Cagle's variant gives a sharp look at Orion, Pete Woods spotlights the extensive roster of New Genesis characters, while Fico Ossio's main cover shows Scott Free in action.
